Mokpo City Enhances City Brand with Successful Hosting of National Sports for All Festival

Four Days of Passionate Competition
A Festival of Unity for Sports Club Members Nationwide

Mokpo City, South Jeolla Province, announced on April 28 that the 2025 National Sports for All Festival, the largest festival for sports club members across the country, successfully concluded on April 27 after four days of events.


This year’s festival was mainly hosted in Mokpo, with events taking place across 20 cities and counties in South Jeolla Province, at a total of 57 venues. A total of 41 sports disciplines were held. More than 20,000 sports club members and officials from across the country, ranging from those under 12 years old to adults, participated and showcased their skills in friendly competition.

In particular, in Mokpo, seven sports were held at seven venues, including Mokpo Sports Complex and Mokpo Indoor Swimming Pool. Around 700 citizen volunteers played key roles in various areas such as event operations, traffic guidance, and emergency support, contributing to the successful hosting of the festival.


During the festival, accommodations throughout the city were fully booked and restaurants were crowded, bringing positive effects to the local economy. Various cultural events and local tourism programs held in conjunction with the festival also helped significantly enhance the city’s brand value.


A city official stated, "The festival of unity, created together by sports enthusiasts and citizens from across the country over the past four days, has successfully concluded," adding, "We will use this event as an opportunity to further establish Mokpo as an advanced city for sports and as a hub for the sports tourism industry."


Meanwhile, with the conclusion of this festival, a series of major sports events?including the 104th National Sports Festival in 2023, the 43rd National Para Games, the 53rd National Youth Sports Festival in 2024, and the 18th National Para Student Sports Festival?have all successfully come to an end.
