A Spectacular Opening Filled with Emotion
The opening performance of the 2025 Mokpo Maritime W Show was held to great acclaim on April 26 at the Peace Square maritime stage, marking the grand beginning of the event amid enthusiastic cheers from the audience.
According to Mokpo City on April 28, this year’s show, themed ‘Mokpo Flex,’ fully captured the romance and diverse charm of the night sea, and maximized tourism benefits by being linked with the 2025 National Sports for All Festival, which took place throughout Jeonnam Province.
The advance reservation system for the maritime deck seats, introduced for the first time this year, sold out just two hours after opening, reflecting the high level of interest. On the day of the performance, over 25,000 spectators gathered, adding to the excitement of the event.
The stage featured a magnificent performance by the Mokpo City Choir, a dynamic K-pop show by the girl group BB Girls, a sea fountain synchronized with music, and a fireworks display that lit up the night sky, providing the audience with unforgettable and moving moments.
In particular, the well-organized program structure, vibrant direction, and meticulous attention to audience safety and convenience were praised for further enhancing the quality of the performance.
A city official said, “We are grateful for the high level of interest and participation in the Mokpo Maritime W Show,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure that the remaining performances live up to expectations.”
Meanwhile, the city announced that the next performance, ‘Wonderland Mokpo,’ featuring singer Cyburger in celebration of Family Month, will take place on May 31.
