Buan County to Host "Buan Masil Festival" from May 2 to 5

A Variety of Performances Including "Masil Cooking Live" and "Pinkfong"

Buan County in North Jeolla Province will host the 12th Buan Masil Festival at the Buan Haetteulmaru Provincial Garden from May 2 to 5.


According to the county on April 28, this year's festival will be held under the theme "A Gift of May, Family Trip to Buan!" and will feature a variety of programs to welcome visitors.

Notable programs include the "Masil Cooking Live (Choi Hyunseok's Gift of Spring)," where celebrity chef Choi Hyunseok, known for his appearance on the popular TV show "Black and White Chef," will present dishes using Buan's clams; the "Pinkfong and Tuntun Teacher's Dance Party," where children can sing and dance along; and the opening and closing performances featuring artists such as Kim Yeonja, Jin Sung, Song Gain, and Apink.


Additionally, the special event "Presenting Goldenmon" is designed to promote and commemorate the newly introduced official festival characters of Buan County, the "Buanmon Friends," which include "Sandeulmasilmon," "Bulgeunnoulmon," and "Pureunbadamon." As part of the event, six card-type gold bars, each containing 5 don of pure gold, will be produced and awarded by lottery to a total of six people?three residents of the county and three non-residents?during the closing ceremony.


To enter, participants must write their name, phone number, and address on a receipt showing a purchase of 30,000 won or more at restaurants, accommodations, or festival booths in Buan during the festival period, and submit it to the appropriate entry box for residents or non-residents according to their address.


County Governor Kwon Ikhyeon said, "In celebration of Family Month in May, we have prepared a variety of programs that the whole family can enjoy," adding, "We hope you will visit Buan during the festival, enjoy the festivities, and create new memories."
