Play Programs in Infant, Toddler, and Kids Zones
Various Hands-on Activities to Be Held
Pohang City will host the '2025 Pohang Children's Day Grand Festival' at Hwanho Park on May 5 to celebrate the 103rd Children's Day.
This event, organized by the city and hosted by Gyeongbuk Maeil Newspaper, will offer a variety of hands-on experiences and play programs for children and families to enjoy together, aiming to reflect on the meaning of Children's Day and create special memories for local children.
On the day of the festival, the main stage will feature a pre-event performance, a commemorative ceremony, recreation activities, and a family mini sports event called 'Dream Park (Kkum)'.
Starting at 9:30 a.m., Play Park (Nori) will open, offering a wide range of play programs in spacious zones, including an Infant Zone (rides, dinosaur bounce), a Toddler Zone (handling cars, block playground, challenge, bounce), and a Kids Zone (racing, bounce, slide).
In addition, Funny Park (Cheheom) will offer special programs such as various booth activities, police car experiences and pre-registration for child fingerprinting to prevent missing children, a fire safety promotion center, and mobile safety education for children.
In addition to the 'Children's Day Grand Festival', various events will take place throughout Pohang during the Children's Day holiday period.
At the Guryongpo Gwamegi Culture Center, the 'Gwamegi Culture Center Children's Day Event' will be held on May 5, where families can enjoy activities such as family photos and roulette games.
The Pohang Coast Guard will hold the '103rd Children's Day Commemorative Patrol Vessel Open Event' on May 3 at the Pohang Coastal Passenger Terminal's large ship dock, offering patrol vessel tours and hands-on programs.
On the same day, the Gyeongbuk Provincial Office of Education Science Center will host the '19th Pohang Science Sprout Festival', organized by the Pohang Office of Education.
Additionally, the Pohang Youth Foundation will hold the '3rd Kkumteul Science Festival' at the Pohang Youth Culture House on May 17, where participants can enjoy digital experiences and a healing play zone.
Mayor Lee Kangdeok stated, "We have prepared a variety of programs so that children, who are the future leaders, can build precious memories with their families through diverse experiences. I hope this event will be an opportunity for children to learn and enjoy to their hearts' content, and to grow into wonderful protagonists who will lead Pohang's bright future."
