Pyeongtaek City to Provide Subsidies for Electric Motorcycle Buyers

Pyeongtaek City in Gyeonggi Province will be accepting applications for the first half of the year for the "2025 Electric Motorcycle Supply Project" until June 27, 2025, in an effort to reduce air pollutants such as fine dust.

Eligibility requirements are as follows: individuals aged 18 or older who have maintained their resident registration address in Pyeongtaek City for at least one month as of the application date; sole proprietors with a resident registration address in Pyeongtaek City; and corporations or businesses with offices located in Pyeongtaek City.

To apply for the subsidy, applicants must sign a purchase contract at an electric motorcycle dealership, after which the dealership will submit the application through the Integrated Zero-Emission Vehicle Portal. The city will provide subsidies of up to 3 million won per vehicle, depending on the model.

Additional subsidies are available for certain buyers. If a buyer scraps an existing internal combustion engine motorcycle and replaces it with an electric motorcycle, an additional 300,000 won in national funding will be provided, as long as the total subsidy does not exceed the upper limit. Small business owners, vulnerable groups, and farmers will each receive an additional 20% of the national subsidy amount. Buyers who purchase for delivery purposes and maintain paid transportation insurance for at least six months, or unpaid transportation insurance for at least three months, will each receive an additional 10% of the national subsidy amount.
