"Black and White Chef" Season 2 Set for October Release
The recent whereabouts of Baek Jongwon, CEO of Theborn Korea, who has been embroiled in various controversies, have been spotted. On the 27th, a post titled "Business Genius Baek Sajang Season 3 Filming in France" was uploaded along with photos on an online community. In the photos, Baek is seen in a kitchen wearing a mask, apron, and hat, and cutting meat while wearing black gloves. The black T-shirt worn by Baek partially displays the logo of the tvN variety show "Business Genius Baek Sajang." The concept of the show is that Baek opens and runs a restaurant in a country where Korean cuisine is not well established. The program first aired in 2023, and Season 3 is scheduled to be broadcast this year.

Previously, starting at the end of January, Baek was fined for violating various laws, including the Liquefied Petroleum Gas Act, the Farmland Act, the Building Act, the Origin Labeling Act, the Food Advertisement and Labeling Act, and the Livestock Products Sanitation Control Act, which sparked controversy. In addition, Baek faced allegations of abusing his power over staff members, including filming staff, while appearing on multiple programs. Kim Jaehwan, a former MBC documentary producer, claimed on his YouTube channel that Baek demanded that certain writer and filming teams he designated be included as staff, and that he forced cast members to leave the show. There were also allegations that Baek violated the National Technical Qualifications Act. It was claimed that Theborn Food Service Development Institute, operated by Theborn Korea, violated the National Technical Qualifications Act. This private institution is suspected of issuing national certificates under the title "Baking Technician," which is an official national qualification.
As the controversy grew, the MBC show "Chef of Antarctica," in which Baek appeared, had its broadcast schedule postponed. MBC stated, "The program was filmed with the aim of being broadcast in April, but the schedule was adjusted due to news specials and the early presidential election situation." Amidst these developments, Baek also began filming the first episode of Netflix's "Black and White Chef: Culinary Class War" Season 2 (Black and White Chef 2) in early March. The Netflix variety show Black and White Chef 2, which is currently being filmed, is reportedly targeting an October release.
According to YTN star, the production team of Black and White Chef 2 is currently filming with the aim of releasing the show in October, in the second half of the year. Building on the success of Season 1, the production of Season 2 was confirmed in October last year, and filming began at the end of March. Chef An Sungjae and Baek will continue to serve as judges in the new season.
