Daewoo Construction Selected as Contractor for Gunpo District 1 Redevelopment

Daewoo Construction announced on April 28 that it has been selected as the contractor for the redevelopment of Gunpo District 1. This marks the company's first order for a maintenance project this year.

The project involves constructing 932 apartment units across 10 buildings, ranging from four basement levels to 29 above-ground floors, at 731 Dang-dong, Gunpo-si, Gyeonggi Province. The construction cost amounts to 298.1 billion KRW. The proposed name for the complex is 'Gunpo Prugio Brevenue.' The plan includes landscaping such as a central plaza, a waterfront garden, and a forest trail within the complex. Community facilities for residents, including a cafe, golf range, table tennis room, and reading room, will also be provided.

This is the first redevelopment project in the Gunpo area that Daewoo Construction has won. The company intends to use this project as a foothold to secure additional redevelopment sites in the region. A Daewoo Construction representative stated, "This year, we are focusing our selective bidding strategy on prime sites in the Seoul metropolitan area," adding, "We will actively pursue orders for projects such as the Yongsan Cheongpa District 1 redevelopment, Seocho Wonhyoseong Villa reconstruction, and Gangnam Gaepo Woosung 7th Complex reconstruction."
