Looking for 'Busan Companies'... Busan City Recruiting Local Enterprises with 30 Years of History

At Least 100 Full-Time Employees,
Average Annual Sales of 20 Billion KRW Over the Past 3 Years

Looking for 'Busan companies'.

The city of Busan is publicly recruiting candidates for the "2025 Busan Local Enterprise" designation, targeting companies that have played a significant role in the local economy. Applications will be accepted until May 19.

The Local Enterprise Certification System was introduced in 2006, and 65 companies have been selected to date. Through the discovery of local enterprises, Busan has strengthened the region's industrial base and supported the sustainable growth of businesses.

Eligible applicants are companies headquartered in Busan that have been in operation for more than 30 years, employ at least 100 full-time workers, and have averaged annual sales of at least 20 billion KRW over the past three years.

Contribution to revitalizing the local economy is also included as an evaluation criterion. This year, reflecting the challenging economic environment, the city will expand the number of new selections and partially ease the screening criteria.

Applications must be submitted by registered mail to the Economic Policy Division of Busan City Hall. After receiving the documents, the city will conduct an expert review and announce the final selected companies in September.

Selected companies will receive a variety of benefits, including: ▲ a local enterprise certificate and plaque ▲ increased funding limits for small and medium-sized business support ▲ preferential treatment for participation in overseas market development delegations and international exhibitions ▲ corporate promotion support ▲ exemptions from public parking fees and Gwangan Bridge tolls, among others.

Busan aims to provide not only honorary recognition but also practical growth opportunities through this recruitment. The city expects that certification will enhance trust and strengthen competitiveness in domestic and international markets among consumers, investors, and business partners.

Kim Bongcheol, Director of the Digital Economy Office of Busan, stated, "Local enterprises are valuable assets that have grown together with citizens over a long period of time," adding, "I hope that many companies will participate in this recruitment, overcome the unstable economic situation, and once again demonstrate the strength of Busan companies together with the citizens."
