For Children and Adults:
Experiencing Art Together with Nature
The Jeonyeoknoeul Art Museum in Sinan County, Jeollanam-do, will launch a cultural arts education program for local residents starting next month. The program is designed to foster creativity and sensitivity through hands-on education that blends nature and art.
According to the county on April 28, the "1004 Islands Mini Art Garden" program for adults will be held every Saturday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. between May 10 and May 31. Participants will learn the theory of gardening with a horticultural therapist and create "their own small garden" as well as a "mini art garden" inspired by the island's natural environment, providing an opportunity to develop aesthetic sensibilities and experience healing.
The "Art Garden Felt with the Body" program for lower-grade elementary school students will take place every Sunday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. between May 11 and May 25. Centered around performance art activities with a nature theme, the program encourages children's creative thinking by allowing them to experience nature with their whole bodies as they walk through the Jeonyeoknoeul Art Museum and the Bonsai Garden.
Both programs will be held at the Jeonyeoknoeul Art Museum and the Bonsai Garden, with priority given to Sinan County residents. Each program will accept 10 participants. Applications can be made by phone from April 29 to May 2.
Cheon Jungyoung, the department head, stated, "This cultural arts education program was planned as part of the 'Enjoy the Museum' project for the 2025 Museum·Art Museum Week, hosted by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and organized by the Korean Museum Association." He added, "We hope that this special opportunity to experience art in nature will provide both local residents and visitors with a rich cultural experience."
