Hana Financial Group announced on April 28 that it has signed a business agreement with the Financial Supervisory Service, Chungcheongbuk-do Province, and the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education to promote financial education in the Chungcheongbuk-do region.

The signing ceremony, held that morning at the Chungcheongbuk-do Provincial Government building, was attended by Lee Bokhyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service; Kim Younghwan, Governor of Chungcheongbuk-do; Yoon Geonyoung, Superintendent of the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education; and Ham Youngjoo, Chairman of Hana Financial Group. Through this agreement, the Financial Supervisory Service, local government, and financial institutions have established measures to strengthen customized financial education for residents of Chungcheongbuk-do, including youth, young adults, and vulnerable groups.

At the signing ceremony, Lee Bokhyun, Governor of the Financial Supervisory Service, emphasized, "Finance is not just a means of economic activity but an important factor that influences individuals' daily lives and society as a whole." He added, "I hope this agreement will serve as a starting point for building a financial education ecosystem in Chungcheongbuk-do, where opportunities for financial education are more limited compared to the Seoul metropolitan area."

Ham Youngjoo, Chairman of Hana Financial Group, stated, "We will provide thorough and comprehensive financial education programs to promote financial education in Chungcheongbuk-do," and added, "We plan to focus on expanding a variety of customized programs tailored to the needs of children and youth."

First, the 'One Company, One School Financial Education Jump-Up' program, led by the Financial Supervisory Service, will be offered to students in the Chungcheongbuk-do region. In addition, the newly introduced 'FSS Children's Financial School with the Financial Supervisory Service and Hana Bank' will provide a total of eight online financial education sessions for elementary school students in Chungcheongbuk-do.

Through these initiatives, the Financial Supervisory Service and Hana Financial Group aim to help students develop a correct understanding of finance and healthy financial habits, while also working to bridge the regional gap in financial education.

Furthermore, the Financial Supervisory Service and Hana Financial Group will hold special financial education lectures and offer tailored financial counseling for young adults. Special lectures reflecting topics of interest to youth, such as 'asset building' and 'prevention of illegal gambling', will be held at youth centers in Chungcheongbuk-do, and one-on-one financial counseling services will be provided to support asset building and economic independence among young people.

Additionally, financial education programs have been prepared for vulnerable groups and the general public in Chungcheongbuk-do. Hana Financial Group will expand its 'Eighteen Standing Alone' program for young adults preparing for independence in the region, offering both financial education and mentoring by peers who have already achieved independence. The Financial Supervisory Service plans to conduct financial fraud prevention education and campaigns, including voice phishing prevention, targeting financially vulnerable groups such as youth and the elderly.

Chungcheongbuk-do Province and the Chungcheongbuk-do Office of Education will be responsible for promoting the educational programs, selecting participants, and managing the schedules for the initiatives carried out under this agreement. Hana Financial Group will actively support the promotion of financial education in the Chungcheongbuk-do region by utilizing its network in the Chungcheong area.

On the day of the signing ceremony, the children's economic musical 'Jack's Magic Wallet' was performed by Hana Bank at Wonbong Elementary School in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do, marking the official start of efforts to promote financial education in the region.

Meanwhile, Hana Financial Group is also conducting sincere financial education initiatives for Korea's future generations, such as the 'Global Financial Experience' program, which provides career exploration opportunities for youth, and 'Hana Dul Set, Finance Let's Play!', an online financial education program available through the Hana Bank mobile app Hana OneQ.
