Recruitment of 17 Companies for Overseas Branch Establishment, Exhibitions and Fairs, and Product Promotion and Marketing Support from May 1 to 12
Seongdong District (District Mayor Jeong Wonoh) will be accepting additional applications from May 1 to May 12 for companies wishing to participate in the "Overseas Branch Establishment Project and Domestic and Overseas Market Expansion Support Project" aimed at strengthening the competitiveness of local small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
This project plans to support approximately 17 companies in three areas: participation in the Overseas Branch Establishment Project, participation in domestic and overseas exhibitions and fairs, and support for SME product promotion and marketing. It targets SMEs that possess excellent technology and products but are struggling to secure sales channels.
In particular, the Overseas Branch Establishment Project, conducted through organizations such as the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA), provides services such as overseas market analysis, demand surveys, promotion, and marketing on behalf of participating companies. A portion of the project costs is subsidized for these companies. From 2018 to 2024, a total budget of 120 million won was invested to support the overseas expansion and growth of 42 local SMEs.
Additionally, companies participating in domestic and overseas exhibitions and fairs receive partial support for participation fees, while those selected for product promotion and marketing support are provided with funding for the creation of websites and advertising brochures. From 2019 to 2024, a total budget of 230 million won was invested, resulting in 100 companies achieving outcomes such as increased sales and contracts with overseas buyers.
Eligibility for the "Overseas Branch Establishment Project and Domestic and Overseas Market Expansion Support Project" is limited to SMEs located in Seongdong District. Companies that have previously received support will be given lower priority. Participating companies will be selected based on internal evaluation criteria, such as business readiness, with high-scoring companies chosen first.
For more details, applicants should check the notices and announcements on the Seongdong District Office website and submit the application form and required documents either in person to the Regional Economy Division of the Seongdong District Office or by email to the designated staff member.
In the first round of 2025, a total of 13 companies will be selected to receive subsidies in May, which they will use to carry out marketing, exhibition, or fair activities.
Jeong Wonoh, Mayor of Seongdong District, stated, "We hope that SMEs will be able to promote their excellent technologies and products more effectively in overseas markets and expand their sales channels," adding, "We will continue to make Seongdong a business-friendly city by providing professional and systematic export support and opportunities for domestic and overseas market expansion."
