Korea Investment & Securities announced on April 28 that it will hold the 12th Bankis University Student Mock Investment Competition, titled 'Mock Investment Showdown.'
This competition is open to all university (including graduate) students and students on leave of absence who have a Bankis account. It will run for five weeks from May 12 to June 13, and will be held in both individual and team leagues (teams of 3 to 10 members).
In the individual league, rankings will be determined separately for domestic and overseas stock returns. The top 50 participants will receive a total of 18.1 million KRW in scholarships, with 3 million KRW for first place, 2 million KRW for second place, and 1 million KRW for third place, up to the 100th participant. In the team league, the top three teams in both domestic and overseas stock returns will receive scholarships: 2 million KRW for first place, 1 million KRW for second place, and 500,000 KRW for third place, for a total of six teams.
Among the individual league participants, students in their second to fourth year who rank in the top five for returns will also be eligible for recruitment benefits. For the next two years, these students will be granted an exemption from the document screening process for one application to a Korea Investment & Securities branch. In addition, those applying for recruitment-linked internships will be exempt from the aptitude test.
Additionally, all participants who register for the competition and execute at least one trade in both domestic and overseas stocks will receive a coffee coupon. Weekly random quizzes will offer chicken coupons and delivery app coupons as prizes. There will also be benefits for attendance checks, friend referrals, and events for customers who participate in consecutive competitions.
Park Jaehyun, Head of the Retail Customer Group at Korea Investment & Securities, said, "We have prepared a total of five mock investment competitions this year to provide university students with the experience of a sound investment culture and more opportunities," adding, "We hope that many students will show interest in and continue to participate in the Korea Investment & Securities Mock Investment Competition."
Applications will be accepted until June 1. Students can apply via the Korea Investment & Securities app or website. Detailed information about the mock investment competition is available through the Korea Investment app, website, and customer center.
