One-on-One Matching with Local Artists
Support for Store Interior Improvement Costs
30 Stores Selected... Up to 2 Million Won Each
On April 28, Gwangju Bukgu District announced that it will implement the 'Artterior Support Project,' which adds art to small business storefronts. The project aims to enhance store interiors through collaboration with local artists, thereby boosting the competitiveness of small business owners while also creating job opportunities for local artists.
'Artterior' is a portmanteau of 'art' and 'interior,' and refers to a project that uniquely decorates both the interior and exterior of stores, including signage, wall paintings, and show window designs. Bukgu District plans to select 30 stores and provide up to 2 million won per business.
Small business owners who wish to participate can submit an application to the Bukgu District Office. Final participants will be selected through a document review and on-site evaluation. Selected stores will be paired one-on-one with local artists from Gwangju for the interior design work.
Bukgu District plans to hold a performance report meeting in October this year to share the results of the project and explore future development measures.
Mayor Moon In of Bukgu District stated, "We hope for great interest in this project, which enhances the competitiveness of small businesses by incorporating art into their storefronts," and added, "We will continue to provide support to revitalize the local economy."
