Ten Jeonjangyeon activists held a silent protest on the Hyehwa Station platform starting at 8:00 a.m. on this day. Seoul Metro and the police demanded that they leave, stating that it was an "unauthorized illegal protest."
When Jeonjangyeon refused to comply, Seoul Metro mobilized subway security officers at 8:19 a.m. and forcibly escorted Lee Hyungsook, the standing co-representative of Jeonjangyeon, out of the station. The remaining activists protested but voluntarily dispersed at 8:32 a.m.
Jeonjangyeon resumed its morning subway boarding protests on April 21 after more than a year and has been holding silent protests every day on the Hyehwa Station platform.
