Gwangju Transportation Corporation (President Cho Ikmoon) announced on the 28th that it recently invited 200 students from Gwangju Kyungshin Middle School to the Dong-gu Yongsan Vehicle Depot for an on-site career experience event.
The event featured field-oriented programs that are rarely experienced in everyday life, such as a tour of the maintenance depot, a visit to the integrated management building, and hands-on experience with safety facilities. These activities significantly enhanced the students' understanding of various occupations related to urban railway operations.
In particular, students were able to operate various pieces of equipment used in train maintenance themselves, gaining vivid job-related information. They also had a Q&A session with corporation employees to explore career paths in the railway sector, which received a highly positive response.
President Cho Ikmoon stated, "I am pleased to be able to help local students plan for their futures," and added, "We will continue to actively work with the local community to practice ESG management through mutual growth and cooperation."
Meanwhile, the corporation operates career experience programs for middle and high schools in the area throughout the year and plans to continue various social contribution activities to support the healthy and happy development of local youth.
