30 Sites Including Goju 1 District in Hwaseong Designated as Cadastral Resurvey Project Districts

Gyeonggi Province has designated 30 cadastral resurvey project districts, including Goju 1 District in Hwaseong City, and has officially launched the projects.

On April 24, Gyeonggi Province held the '2025 First Gyeonggi Province Cadastral Resurvey Committee' meeting and announced on the 28th that it has designated 30 out of 75 candidates for this year's cadastral resurvey as project districts, and will begin full-scale implementation.

The cadastral resurvey project involves re-examining paper cadastral records created during the Japanese colonial period using the latest surveying technology, converting them into digital cadastral records, and clarifying land boundaries. This helps resolve boundary disputes between neighbors and, in the case of landlocked parcels not adjacent to roads, secures road access to maximize land use value, thereby protecting residents' property rights.

Gyeonggi Province also plans to complete the designation of the remaining 45 unassigned districts among this year's project districts by August. In particular, to expedite the cadastral resurvey project, the Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation will be exclusively responsible for managing and implementing small-scale project districts with fewer than 200 parcels as priority management districts.

Son Imseong, Director of Urban Housing for Gyeonggi Province, stated, "We will promote collaboration with various development projects, such as the creation of village access roads that residents can appreciate and experience firsthand, so that people view the cadastral resurvey project positively," and added, "We will make every effort to secure national subsidies to ensure the prompt completion of the cadastral resurvey project."

Meanwhile, since launching the cadastral resurvey project in 2012, Gyeonggi Province has started or completed work on 780 sites, accounting for 40% of the total 2,004 target sites.
