When multiple winners emerge from the same sales location, it is generally considered likely that they are the same individual. This is because many people purchase multiple tickets with their preferred numbers. If these tickets were indeed bought by one person, the total prize would reach 424,500,000 won. This means that even without winning the first prize, the winner would receive several hundred million won by winning multiple second prizes.
Such cases, where a large number of winners come from a single lottery sales store, occur from time to time. For example, just over 20 days ago, in the 1166th Lotto draw announced on the 5th, five first-prize tickets were sold at a single store in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. All tickets were purchased manually, suggesting they were likely bought by the same person. If one individual had purchased all five first-prize tickets, the total prize would have reached 10.3 billion won. Later, a post appeared online certifying the receipt of 10.6 billion won from the 1166th Lotto draw, confirming the 'jackpot.'
In the 1003rd Lotto draw held on February 19, 2022, there was also a case where five manually purchased tickets with the same numbers won the first prize at a single store. However, at that time, each winner received approximately 1,811,110,000 won, so the total did not exceed 10 billion won.
