The Korea Forest Service, Gyeongbuk Province, and other authorities mobilized 15 helicopters, 29 vehicles, and 90 personnel to extinguish the fire. The blaze was brought under control at around 11:42 a.m., one hour and 45 minutes after it started.
At approximately 10:55 a.m., Cheongsong-gun sent a disaster safety alert to residents, advising them not to enter the mountain and to be cautious of safety accidents.
The Korea Forest Service suspects that the fire was caused by a forest visitor's negligence and has deployed a forest fire investigation team to determine the exact cause and assess the damage.
