On April 25 in the afternoon, Park Wansu, Governor of Gyeongnam Province, visited the funeral hall prepared at the Masan Diocese of the Catholic Church in Jinjeon-myeon, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon, to pay his respects to Pope Francis, who passed away.

Governor Park said, "The Pope devoted his entire life to peace and harmony for humanity, delivering messages of love and hope to people around the world. The teachings of inclusion and love he demonstrated during his lifetime will be remembered in all our hearts for a long time."
Afterwards, meeting with Lee Seonghyo, Bishop of the Masan Diocese, Governor Park expressed his intention to "further spread the values of peace and harmony through cooperation between the local community and religious organizations."
Bishop Lee responded by saying, "I will strive to carry on the Pope's legacy by working for harmony and mutual prosperity within the local community."
Pope Francis was born in Argentina in 1936, was elected as the 266th Pope in 2013, and passed away on April 21 at the age of 88.
