The Seoul International Garden Expo is a large-scale project that the city of Seoul has been conducting since 2015 to enhance urban sustainability and promote garden culture. One of its main programs is the 'Corporate Accompaniment Garden,' which is created in collaboration with both businesses and citizens.
Through this agreement, Cheonil Energy will present a garden called 'Jiguhada,' which embodies the company's eco-friendly philosophy. 'Jiguhada' is a coined term that means both 'for the Earth' and 'actions toward a sustainable future,' and has been designed as a language of intentional practice.
With this garden, Cheonil Energy plans to showcase its waste-to-resource technology and upcycling capabilities in an emotionally engaging space, delivering an environmental message that goes beyond simple landscaping.
The concept of the garden is 'The Second Season of What Has Disappeared.' Various materials that Cheonil Energy has processed, such as coffee grounds, plastics, and waste materials, will be reborn as sculptural art, expressing the potential for a new cycle in which discarded resources are reconnected with the ecosystem.
Through this garden, Cheonil Energy aims not only to realize ESG values but also to explore the potential for expanding into an urban garden model using actual recycled construction materials. In the future, the company plans to take the lead in building a sustainable urban ecosystem through urban upcycling gardens, public campaigns, and eco-friendly educational programs.
Sangwon Park, CEO of Cheonil Energy, stated, "Through this expo, we will communicate with citizens not only through technology but also through emotion, and create a sustainable urban model that breathes new life into what has been discarded."
Meanwhile, the Seoul International Garden Expo will open at Boramae Park on May 22 and run until October 20.
