On April 26, Gokseong County in South Jeolla Province announced that it is actively promoting itself to urban residents of the Seoul metropolitan area and prospective returnees to farming and rural life at the "2025 Returning to Farming and Rural Revitalization Expo," which is being held over three days from the 25th to the 27th at the Suwon Convention Center.

The county is providing information on its policies for returning to farming and rural life, Gokseong Mall, the Hometown Love Donation Program, and tourism in Gokseong. It is also exhibiting major local agricultural specialties, including Baeksemi rice, taro, processed taro products, fermented vinegar, melon (melon syrup and Makgeolli), fruit juices (apple, grape, and ABC), brown rice, five-colored rice, and processed five-colored rice products, attracting significant attention.

The county is introducing its policies for returning to farming and rural life, including a 100% subsidy of 5 million won per household for farmhouse repairs, a new agricultural workforce development project that provides a subsidy of 12 million won per household (50% subsidy and 50% self-payment), and a loan program to support agricultural startups and housing purchases for returnees.

A county official stated, "Through this expo, urban residents can learn about Gokseong's geographical features, and if they decide to return to farming, it can help them select representative local crops. With thorough preliminary research and systematic planning, residents from the metropolitan area can successfully settle in rural regions, and Gokseong County will continue to provide ample information to encourage a steady influx of urban returnees."
