Extended hours from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in July and August... "Cool off with the waterfall"
Dongdaemun-gu in Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pilhyung) announced on April 26 that the 'Baebongsan Forest Waterfall' will resume operation starting today.
The 'Baebongsan Forest Waterfall' is an artificial waterfall that the district created in July 2024 at the Open Plaza of Baebongsan Neighborhood Park. It features a GRC (Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete) rock wall, a fountain, and landscape lighting.
This site, where the refreshing waterfall and lush greenery blend together, has become a new landmark for the district, receiving significant attention and affection from residents since its first operation last year.
The waterfall will operate seven times a day, every hour on the hour for 30 minutes, from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. until October 15. During July and August, when hot weather is expected to bring many visitors, the operating hours will be extended from 12:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., with nine sessions per day.
Detailed operating information will be provided on the signboard below the waterfall, as well as on the Dongdaemun-gu website and official social media channels.
District Mayor Lee Pilhyung said, "I hope you enjoy a cool summer with the Baebongsan Forest Waterfall," and added, "We will continue to create spaces where people can relax in harmony with nature."
