Stress, Depression, Brainwave, and Pulse Wave Assessments
Seogu District in Gwangju (headed by District Mayor Kim Ikang) is implementing the "Maum Toktok (Talk Talk) Seogu Workplace Mental Health Support Project" to promote healthy working environments.
According to Seogu District on April 25, this project provides mental health services to employees who struggle with managing their mental well-being due to work-related stress, anxiety, or depression. The services are delivered directly to workplaces or institutions within Seogu District.
On-site, Seogu District offers ▲ mental health assessments such as stress and depression tests, as well as brainwave and pulse wave measurements ▲ "Mental Health Primary Doctor" consultations for high-risk groups ▲ mental health lectures by psychiatrists ▲ horticultural and aromatherapy programs to support employees' emotional recovery. In addition, the district will provide ▲ physical health management programs such as diabetes and blood pressure measurements ▲ nicotine dependence tests and smoking cessation counseling.
The project targets four workplaces within the district, each with at least 30 employees. Workplaces or institutions wishing to participate should refer to the announcements on the Seogu District Office website and submit the required documents via email by May 16. For more details, inquiries can be made to the Seogu Public Health Center Healthy Living Support Center.
Lee Wongu, Director of Seogu Public Health Center, stated, "We have prepared a workplace-centered mental health program for employees who lack time to care for their mental well-being," and added, "Given the high participant satisfaction last year, we hope that many more institutions will join this year to help spread a healthy workplace culture."
Meanwhile, last year Seogu District selected four institutions and provided mental and physical health checkups, aromatherapy, and "Happiness Food Trucks" to 560 employees.
