Securing a Project Budget of 10 Billion Won

Shinan County in South Jeolla Province has achieved a significant milestone by being selected for the "Youth Sea Village Project" organized by the Ministry of Oceans and Fisheries, securing a total project budget of 10 billion won.

According to the county on April 25, the newly selected "Youth Sea Village" project is a support initiative that aims to resolve the major barriers faced by young people considering returning to fishing villages, specifically housing and employment issues, by creating a complex residential district.

Shinan County has chosen Imjado, which includes Hawuri Port and Jinri Port?areas where living conditions have been improved through the Fishing Village New Deal 300 project?as the target district for this initiative. Once the project is completed, it is expected to make a significant contribution to revitalizing the local economy by proactively addressing the depopulation of fishing villages. The success of this public contest project is the result of thorough regional analysis and active communication with the central government.

Kim Daein, acting governor of Shinan County, stated, "Population extinction directly leads to the disappearance of local communities. This public contest project will serve as a foundation for young people to return and revitalize the region," adding, "I hope that, despite the stagnant economy caused by poor local finances over the past three years, this project will at least spark some revitalization of the local economy."
