On this day, he visited the city hall briefing room and announced the direction of city administration following the vacancy of former Mayor Park Sangdon, who was removed from office the previous day due to charges of violating the Public Official Election Act.
Kim, serving as Acting Mayor, said, "It is regrettable that the mayor's seat has become vacant due to a court ruling," and added, "As Acting Mayor, I feel a great sense of responsibility."
He continued, "I understand that citizens may have concerns and worries about the administrative vacuum," but emphasized, "The administration of Cheonan will proceed in a stable, consistent, and unwavering manner in accordance with the law and principles."
He also mentioned key policies, including ▲stabilizing citizens' livelihoods ▲establishing a smart city ▲fostering startups ▲developing industrial complexes, and stated, "We will implement policies consistently, ensure organizational stability, and establish a strong work ethic."
Regarding the pledges made by former Mayor Park during the 8th popularly elected term, he said, "If they are valid and effective, I believe they should naturally be continued. These pledges are not just personal promises, but commitments made to the citizens." However, he also left open the possibility of review, adding, "If they are ineffective or problematic, there is a need to reconsider them."
