Sequential Customer Deliveries Begin on April 25
Volkswagen Korea announced on April 25 that it will begin sequential deliveries of the coupe-style all-electric sport utility vehicle (SUV) ID.5 to customers.
The ID.5 is Volkswagen Korea's second electric vehicle model, following the electric SUV ID.4, which ranked first in domestic sales among single European electric vehicle models in the first quarter of this year.
The previously launched ID.4 gained significant popularity, resulting in early depletion of domestic inventory and the scheduling of emergency shipments. By starting deliveries of the ID.5, for which pre-orders have been accepted since January this year, Volkswagen Korea aims to strengthen its electric vehicle lineup following the ID.4.
The official selling price of the ID.5 is 60,990,000 KRW (including tax benefits and VAT), with a national government subsidy of 2,150,000 KRW. In addition, Volkswagen Korea offers a special purchase subsidy of 2,000,000 KRW for ID.5 deliveries. As a result, when all subsidies and purchase benefits are applied, the vehicle can be purchased in the 45 million KRW range (based on Seoul city standards).
The ID.5 is an electric SUV that combines Volkswagen performance, outstanding efficiency, elegant coupe-style design, and advanced safety and convenience features. It is equipped with optimized thermal management and an intelligent cooling system, delivering a maximum output of 286 horsepower (PS) and a peak torque of 55.6 kg·m. The vehicle accelerates from a standstill to 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds.
With a high-efficiency, high-voltage battery capacity of 82 kWh, the ID.5 supports ultra-fast charging up to 175 kW. When using fast charging, the battery can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 28 minutes.
