Gemini DAU Nearly Quadruples in Five Months
ChatGPT Subscribers Jump Over 40% in Three Months
The monthly active users (MAU) of Google's artificial intelligence (AI) model Gemini have reached 350 million.
Technology media outlet TechCrunch reported on the 24th (local time), "As of last March, Gemini's MAU was identified as 350 million. This figure was disclosed during the ongoing trial aimed at resolving Google's monopoly in the online search market."
Last month, the daily active users (DAU) stood at 35 million. This marks a nearly fourfold increase in just five months, up from 9 million DAU in October of last year. However, Gemini's MAU remains lower than those of competing AI models such as OpenAI's ChatGPT.
Earlier this month, OpenAI announced that the number of ChatGPT subscribers surpassed 500 million at the end of last month. This represents an increase of more than 40% in three months, up from 350 million at the end of last year.
Sam Altman, CEO of OpenAI, stated at the TED 2025 talk in Vancouver, Canada, on the 11th, "Ten percent of the world's population is using our system."
OpenAI expects its user base to surpass 1 billion this year. Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta Platforms, reported in September of last year that Meta AI's monthly active users had approached 500 million.
