Agreement to Promote Facility Utilization
Including Discounts on Outdoor Sports Facility Fees
Seoul National University Siheung Campus is lowering the barriers for local residents to use its major facilities.
Siheung City and the Siheung City Council announced on the 25th that they had signed the "Seoul National University Siheung Campus Citizen Utilization Activation Agreement" with Seoul National University in the mayor's office on the 24th. The signing ceremony was attended by Siheung Mayor Lim Byungtaek, Siheung City Council Chairman Oh Inyeol, and Seoul National University Siheung Campus Director Shin Younggi.

The agreement was made to promote citizen use of the facilities at Seoul National University Siheung Campus. Under the agreement, the participating organizations will, starting from July for a period of three years, implement discounts for outdoor sports facility use, attract educational events, and utilize dormitories.
As a result, citizens will be able to use outdoor sports facilities on campus, such as the baseball field, soccer field, and tennis courts, at discounted rates compared to the current fees. The city also plans to actively host major educational events, forums, and expos at the campus convention center. In addition, some spaces at the Seoul National University training center will be used as dormitories for newly appointed public officials in Siheung City.
Seoul National University stated, "Through this agreement, the Siheung Campus will become even closer to the local community," and added, "We will continue to develop a campus that grows together with the region."
Mayor Lim said, "This agreement has established a foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation between the local community and the university," and added, "We will continue to expand a sustainable regional development model created together by the university and the local community."
