The Ulsan Metropolitan Government announced that its overseas delegation to Vietnam, led by Vice Mayor for Economic Affairs Ahn Hyodae, will attend the completion ceremony for the Shipbuilding Welding Skilled Workforce Training Program at the Korea-Vietnam Industrial Technology University in Nghe An Province, Vietnam, at 10:00 a.m. (12:00 p.m. Korean time) on April 25.
The ceremony will be attended by 53 trainees and instructors, and will include the awarding of certificates, commemorative photography, and a tour of the training site.
From February 3 to April 25, over a period of about three months, international-level technical training and Korean language education were provided, and on this day, 53 participants completed the program.
These graduates plan to seek employment opportunities through connections with shipbuilding-related companies in Ulsan, Vietnam, and other domestic and international locations.
Vice Mayor for Economic Affairs Ahn Hyodae stated, "While this ceremony marks the end of the vocational training course, for the trainees, it is also the beginning of their journey toward successful employment. We will continue to support them so they can smoothly adapt to the workplace and grow into skilled professionals."
The Shipbuilding Welding Skilled Workforce Training Program has been operated at the Korea-Vietnam Industrial Technology University since February as part of a development cooperation project (ODA) supported by KOICA. The Ulsan Metropolitan Government and HD Hyundai Heavy Industries are jointly involved in designing and operating the program.
This year, the shipbuilding welding skilled workforce training program in Vietnam will be conducted five times, with each session lasting three months, and a total of 160 personnel will be trained.
In addition, workforce training programs are planned for Thailand (123 people) and Uzbekistan (370 people).
Notably, on March 18, the 'Ulsan Global Workforce Training Center' was opened in the Fergana region of Uzbekistan.
