Yeongdeungpo District to Host "2025 Children's Festival" on May 3... Volunteers Needed Choi Hogwon, Yeongdeungpo District Mayor, attending last year's Children's Day event

Yeongdeungpo District (District Mayor Choi Hogwon) announced that it will host the "2025 Children's Festival" at Yeongdeungpo Park on May 3, in celebration of Family Month.

Under the theme "Play Well! Laugh Well! Grow Well!", the festival will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will feature a variety of activities for the whole family, including experience zones, performances, games, and food & relaxation areas.

This year's most anticipated program is the "horseback riding experience" set in the heart of the city. In addition, there will be more than 20 experience booths, including a VR bus, 3D pen science activities, bracelet making, traditional costume try-ons, and face painting & calligraphy.

The performance area will offer a magic show by Choo Seungho, performances by the district's children's choir, a Taekwondo demonstration, family recreation, and a children's environmental musical, providing a rich and diverse array of entertainment. Amusement rides such as a Viking ship, bumper cars, swing rides, and a mini train will also be available. Some activities and rides require a participation fee of 1,000 won. All proceeds will be donated to charity.

The food area will sell a variety of snacks, including Dakgangjeong (sweet crispy chicken), churros, tornado potatoes, Sotteok Sotteok (sausage and rice cake skewers), and toast. The event aims to be a "zero waste festival" by using reusable containers. Visitors who bring their own tumblers or containers will receive a 500 won discount.

In case of rain, the event may be partially or fully canceled or postponed. For more information, contact the Department of Children and Youth.

The district is recruiting volunteers to assist with safety management and guidance at the festival site until April 28. Interested residents can apply through the "1365 Volunteer" website or by calling the relevant department.

Choi Hogwon, Mayor of Yeongdeungpo District, stated, "We have prepared a festival where parents and children can enjoy together and create precious memories in celebration of Family Month in May," and added, "We will continue to support our children so they can grow up healthy and full of hope."
