The Gyeonggi-do one-day travel package for foreigners, "EG Tour," has begun operations.
On April 25, Gyeonggi-do and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization announced that they started operating the one-day travel package "EG Tour" for foreign tourists on April 24. This tour allows visitors to explore various regions within the province.
This year, the EG Tour is divided into a total of six routes, covering the east, west, south, and north areas of Gyeonggi-do.
First, the Suwon-Yongin route features traditional and Korean Wave (Hallyu) themes, with visits to the Korean Folk Village, Suwon Hwaseong Fortress, and Nammun Market. The Pocheon-Gapyeong route, themed around healing and hands-on experiences, includes stops at The Garden of Morning Calm, a farm experience, and Pocheon Art Valley. Depending on the season, the farm experience will take place at either a strawberry or apple farm.
The Icheon-Yeoju route focuses on history and hands-on experiences, with visits to the Tomb of King Sejong, Ceramic Art Village, and Namhansanseong Fortress. For lunch, an Icheon rice set meal is provided, and the Ceramic Art Village offers a mug painting activity.
The Paju route, themed around the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone) and peace, includes Imjingak, Camp Greaves, and the Peace DMZ Tour (Third Tunnel, Dora Observatory, and Tongilchon Village). The Gimpo route, with a focus on peace and local cuisine, features Aegibong Peace Ecological Park, Gimpo Hyundai Premium Outlet, and Hanok Village. After a gochujang (Korean red chili paste) making experience, participants can enjoy bibimbap topped with their own homemade gochujang.
Lastly, the Suwon-Hwaseong-Gwangmyeong route highlights marine and trending hotspots, with visits to Tando Port Seohaerang Cable Car, Suwon Starfield, and Gwangmyeong Cave.
All routes depart from Seoul (Hongdae Entrance Station, Namsan Yejang Public Parking Lot, Dongdaemun History and Culture Park Station), offer a day trip around Gyeonggi-do, and return to Seoul at the end of the tour.
The fare ranges from a minimum of $65 to a maximum of $77 per adult. Tickets can be purchased through online travel agencies (OTAs) such as Klook, KKday, Trip.com, and GetYourGuide.
Jang Hyangjeong, Director of the Tourism Industry Division at Gyeonggi-do, stated, "The EG Tour is a program designed to help foreign tourists travel around Gyeonggi-do more easily and enjoyably," adding, "We will continue to develop tourism products that showcase the unique charm of Gyeonggi-do and work to attract more foreign visitors."
