Uiseong County, Gyeongbuk, has launched efforts to strengthen the welfare safety net to prevent solitary deaths and respond to crises among isolated households.

Uiseong County Signs Business Agreement with Post Office for "Anbusallim Postal Service" Uiseong County, Gyeongbuk, is signing a business agreement for the Anbusallim postal service and taking a commemorative photo.

The county announced on April 25 that it signed a business agreement with Uiseong Post Office on April 23 to ensure the successful implementation of the "Anbusallim Postal Service" project.

This agreement was signed after Uiseong County was finally selected for the "2025 Anbusallim Postal Service" public contest project, which is organized by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety.

Through this project, the county plans to prevent solitary deaths among socially isolated households and to establish a dense local welfare safety net.

The "Anbusallim Postal Service" operates by having postal workers regularly deliver daily necessities to isolated households, check on their well-being, and report basic information about their living conditions to the county. The collected information will be used for rapid response in crisis situations and for linking customized welfare services.

Starting in May, the county will officially launch the service for 170 households at risk of isolation or solitary death, particularly those living in apartments and other multi-family housing.

Kim Jusu, Governor of Uiseong County, said, "Through cooperation with the post office, we have established a system to ensure the safety of neighbors who are left out of the welfare safety net," and added, "We will continue to strengthen a regionally tailored care network in the future."
