Andong Medical Foundation Andong Hospital in Gyeongbuk is donating 250 refrigerators worth about 100 million won to disaster victims who have been living for a long time in portable modular homes due to wildfire damage.
On April 24, Andong Hospital began its official support by delivering the first batch of 250-liter refrigerators to the temporary housing complex in Myeongjin-ri, Iljik-myeon, Andong. Residents began moving into these temporary homes on April 23.
Kang Sinhong, Chairman of Andong Hospital, said, "We extend our deepest condolences to the local residents who have suffered severe damage," adding, "Although it is a small gesture, we hope it will be helpful, and we wish for a swift recovery and return to daily life."
In addition to this refrigerator donation, Andong Hospital has continued a series of support activities for the local community since earlier this month. On April 1, the hospital donated 100 million won to the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea, and on April 2, it provided 200 single-person mats worth 5 million won to residents staying in temporary accommodations such as Andong Gymnasium.
An official from Andong City stated, "Ongoing interest and support from the private sector is a great source of strength," and added, "We will spare no administrative support to help the affected residents return to their daily lives as soon as possible."
