On April 24, Damyang County in South Jeolla Province (Governor Jeong Cheolwon) signed a business agreement with Korail Tourism Development Co., Ltd. (CEO Kwon Baeksin) at the Songgangjeong Room in the county office to revitalize local tourism.

This agreement was promoted to establish a cooperative system for regional coexistence and sustainable tourism by combining the operational expertise of Korail Tourism Development Co., Ltd., which has provided tourism services based on railways, with Damyang County's abundant tourism resources.

The main contents of the agreement are: ▲ development and operation of tourism products linked to the Dalbit Railway, which is scheduled to open in 2030, and ▲ joint projects to attract domestic and international tourists using the railway. The county expects that this agreement will help prepare for the era of 30 million annual tourists and significantly contribute to expanding demand for stay-type tourism.

On the occasion of this agreement, the two organizations promised to further specify various collaborative projects, including the planning and operation of effective tourism products and the strengthening of domestic and international tourism promotion.

Governor Jeong Cheolwon emphasized, "This business agreement will serve as an important opportunity for Damyang's tourism industry to take a leap forward, using the Dalbit Railway, which connects Yeongnam and Honam, as a stepping stone. I hope that both organizations will work together to create a successful model for attracting domestic and international tourists and revitalizing the local economy."
