The donated funds will be used by the Korean Red Cross to support activities aimed at helping residents in the wildfire-affected areas restore their daily lives. These activities include emergency recovery operations, temporary housing support, and the provision of daily necessities.
This donation consists of 16 million won raised at the charity zone during the Doosan Construction We’ve Championship, the KLPGA domestic season opener held in Busan earlier this month, combined with 9 million won from the 2024 birdie fund of the Doosan Construction We’ve Golf Team.
Doosan Construction contributes to the birdie fund each season by allocating 10,000 won for every birdie and 50,000 won for every eagle achieved by its affiliated players.
Doosan Construction practices sharing by linking the operation of its golf team with social contribution activities. In 2025, starting with this donation, the company plans to donate 6.5% of the ticket sales revenue from the Doosan Construction We’ve Championship and all proceeds from the sale of player support T-shirts to support vulnerable groups in the Busan area, in celebration of the company’s 65th anniversary.
Jong Sul Park, Secretary General of the Korean Red Cross, said, "The donation delivered by Doosan Construction will be used transparently and swiftly to provide real help to residents in the affected areas."
A representative from Doosan Construction stated, "This year as well, we are planning social contribution activities in which employees and golf fans can participate together," adding, "We will continue to actively fulfill our corporate social responsibility through a variety of sharing programs."
