Mister Blue is showing strong performance. This appears to be influenced by the announcement of the "2025-2030 Basic Plan for the Promotion of the Animation Industry" by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism at the 62nd Cabinet Meeting on Current State Affairs, presided over by Acting President and Prime Minister Han Ducksoo.
As of the afternoon of April 24, Mister Blue was trading at 1,469 KRW, up 12.57%.
Recently, in the domestic stock market, major webtoon-related stocks such as Mister Blue, Finger Story, Kidari Studio, and Suseong Webtoon have been drawing attention. Expectations for industry growth are rising due to anticipated government support.
The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has decided to introduce an incentive plan that will refund part of domestic production costs if certain conditions are met during international co-productions, in order to attract foreign investment. The ministry will also encourage the production of content suitable for various platforms, including online video services (OTT) and short-form content. It will support the expansion of outstanding animation universes through adaptation with webtoons and web novels, as well as the creation of derivative works utilizing artificial intelligence (AI). The government will also strengthen its strategic initiatives to support overseas expansion.
Previously, on April 18, Lee Jaemyung, the presidential primary candidate of the Democratic Party of Korea, held a webtoon promotion meeting in Daegu and announced plans to strengthen national support for the entire process of cultural and artistic creation, including webtoons.
Mister Blue operates in the online content supply and game business, focusing on digital comics, webtoons, and web novels. The company has established itself as a leading content company with capabilities in both IP distribution and platform operation.
Suseong Webtoon is recognized as a leading player rapidly expanding its presence in the global webtoon market through its subsidiary Toomics. Toomics has more than 60 million cumulative global members, with overseas sales accounting for about 80% of its total revenue. Recently, the company announced plans to build a creative ecosystem incorporating generative AI technology, further strengthening its position as a technology-driven innovator in the webtoon industry.
