Taewoong Logistics, a comprehensive logistics company led by CEOs Han Jaedong and Cho Yongjun, announced on April 24 that it has signed a mutual cooperation agreement with the Pyeongtaek University Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation, headed by Director Kim Gideok, for talent development and job creation.
Through this agreement, the two organizations plan to establish a practical, industry-academia cooperation system and focus on nurturing logistics professionals needed by both the local community and industry. In particular, they will promote mutual development through the exchange of human and material resources, and jointly design education and training programs specialized in the logistics industry, with an emphasis on expanding field-oriented internships and experiential opportunities.
The main areas of cooperation include: regular exchanges for industry-academia collaboration; joint development of educational programs to nurture outstanding logistics professionals; operation of internship and experiential programs; and identification and execution of joint projects. The two organizations aim to contribute to strengthening the practical competitiveness of the logistics industry through these initiatives.
The Department of International Logistics at Pyeongtaek University has been training international logistics experts in connection with the local industry, leveraging the region's unique status as a logistics hub in the Yellow Sea Rim, including Pyeongtaek Port. In 2007, it was selected as the top department nationwide in the 'Trade Studies' category of the national university major evaluation conducted by the Korean Council for University Education, and it has received numerous other awards as well.
The agreement is valid for five years from the date of signing and will remain in effect unless otherwise terminated. Any changes or extensions to the cooperation will be determined through mutual consultation. Han Jaedong, CEO of Taewoong Logistics, stated, "Through this industry-academia cooperation, we will nurture talent with field experience and practical skills, and promote the joint growth of the local community and industry." He added, "By strengthening educational cooperation in the logistics field, we will contribute to job creation and the development of local industry."
Meanwhile, Taewoong Logistics is a comprehensive logistics company providing integrated import-export logistics services and third-party logistics (3PL)-based smart logistics solutions. Leveraging its experience in operating domestic and international logistics hubs and its digital logistics systems, the company offers customized logistics services for a wide range of industries, including manufacturing and distribution. In particular, Taewoong Logistics is realizing ESG management by introducing AI-based logistics operation optimization systems and expanding eco-friendly transportation, while also accelerating its efforts to strengthen capabilities for global logistics market expansion.
