The Government Employees Mutual Aid Association announced on April 24 that it recently delivered encouragement packages, including bread and beverages, to public officials working on wildfire recovery efforts in the Yeongnam region.
The packages were distributed to eight local governments designated as special disaster zones (Ulju County, Andong City, Uiseong County, Yeongdeok County, Cheongsong County, Yeongyang County, Hadong County, and Sancheong County), with a total value of 12 million won (1.5 million won per local government).
Kim Janghoe, Chairman of the Government Employees Mutual Aid Association, said, "We are always grateful for the hard work of local government officials who are on the front lines of wildfire recovery and helping disaster victims return to their daily lives as quickly as possible." He added, "The Government Employees Mutual Aid Association will continue to provide a variety of welfare services so that all 350,000 public officials belonging to local governments nationwide can benefit."
Earlier, in early April, the Government Employees Mutual Aid Association donated 10 million won each to the Gyeongbuk and Gyeongnam Community Chest of Korea, for a total of 20 million won, to support wildfire recovery and aid disaster victims.
