Ripple Effect Expected in Job Creation and Employment Improvement
The recruitment of companies to participate in the Local Specialized Company Support Project is being carried out as part of the "Local Industry Customized Job Creation County Support Project," which was selected as a public offering project by Jeonbuk Province last month.
According to the 2022 Business Survey Report, Imsil County's industrial structure is based on small-scale enterprises and manufacturing centered around agro-industrial complexes. The main local specialized industries include agricultural and food sales and processing, dairy products such as butter and cheese, fermented foods, and the manufacturing of construction materials.
However, growth has been limited due to several factors, including a lack of competitiveness among local companies, difficulties in securing sales channels, and insufficient management consulting. As a result, the rate of factory operation maintenance has been continuously declining, with more businesses transitioning to temporary closures.
Recognizing the urgent need for active corporate support and competitiveness enhancement programs, the county applied for the public offering project to overcome these challenges and secured 90 million KRW in provincial funding for the Local Specialized Company Support Project.
The county has also allocated an additional 20 million KRW from its own budget, bringing the total project budget to 110 million KRW. The Industry-Academic Cooperation Foundation of Jeonju Kijeon College will participate as the implementing agency.
The Local Specialized Company Support Project targets local specialized industries located in Imsil County, aiming to strengthen the county's flagship products through corporate support, publicity, and tailored educational programs. Seven business sites will be selected. The selection process will involve fair interviews, evaluating factors such as potential for new job creation, relevance to local specialized industries, and employment stability within the company.
Each selected business site will receive support worth approximately 8 million KRW per site, including assistance for discovering customized items necessary for growth and market expansion (such as promotional material production costs for videos and brochures, and prototype production support).
In addition, participating companies will receive customized educational programs tailored to corporate needs, including HR and labor management, and corporate marketing education for managers, as well as training on the Labor Standards Act, accounting and taxation, and workplace communication for current employees.
County Governor Shim Min stated, "Through this project, various local specialized companies within the county will receive support for business promotion and education, thereby strengthening their competitiveness. We also expect a ripple effect in improving employment, such as job creation within the region. The administration will continue to invigorate businesses through diverse support and strive to make Imsil a place people want to visit."
