Selected as an Outstanding Institution for World Immunization Week 2025
Yeongju Public Health Center (Director Kim Moonsu) received the 'Minister of Health and Welfare Commendation' on April 23, in recognition of its contributions to the National Immunization Program, in celebration of 'World Immunization Week 2025'.
Yeongju Public Health Center has continuously worked to prevent missed national essential vaccinations and to increase timely vaccination rates by strengthening public awareness campaigns and expanding the participation of designated medical institutions. In particular, the center was highly praised for its efforts to improve vaccination rates for pneumococcal and influenza vaccines among seniors aged 65 and older.
Additionally, by utilizing its own municipal budget, the center has provided free influenza vaccinations to vulnerable groups such as individuals with severe disabilities and national merit recipients. It has also offered pertussis vaccinations to pregnant women and their spouses, thereby working to prevent infectious diseases among high-risk groups and to protect their health.
Park Younghwa, Head of the Infectious Disease Control Division, stated, "This commendation is thanks to the efforts of our staff and the active cooperation of local residents," adding, "We will do our utmost in the immunization program so that citizens can enjoy a healthy and safe daily life."
