Daejeon City to Provide Up to 400,000 Won in Jeonse Deposit Refund Guarantee Fees

The Daejeon city government announced that it has increased the maximum guarantee fee for the Jeonse Deposit Refund Guarantee from the previous 300,000 won to up to 400,000 won this year.

This change is in accordance with the revised guidelines from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. For those who enroll in the guarantee after March 31, 2025, the guarantee fee can be supported up to a maximum of 400,000 won. For those who enrolled before March 30, the maximum support remains at 300,000 won.

The support is available to tenants without a home who are registered residents of Daejeon and who meet all of the following criteria: 1) they have a valid Jeonse Deposit Refund Guarantee (issued by the Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation, Korea Housing Finance Corporation, or Seoul SGI) as of the application date; 2) their Jeonse deposit is 300 million won or less; and 3) their annual income is 50 million won or less for youth, 60 million won or less for non-youth, and 75 million won or less for newlyweds.

In particular, youth (aged 18 to 39) and newlyweds (within seven years of marriage registration) are eligible to receive support for the full amount of the guarantee fee they paid (up to 400,000 won). Other eligible applicants can receive support for 90% of the guarantee fee (up to 400,000 won).

Applications can be submitted online through Government24 and the HUG Safe Jeonse Portal, or in person at the administrative welfare center responsible for the applicant's registered address.

An official from the Daejeon city government stated, "This expansion of guarantee fee support will serve as a practical protection measure for the housing stability of ordinary citizens," adding, "We will continue to provide careful and systematic support to safeguard the valuable housing rights of our citizens."
