The Suwon Tapdong Innovation Valley development project in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province is gaining momentum.
On April 24, the Suwon city government announced that it had approved the implementation plan for the 'Tapdong Innovation Valley Project' submitted by Suwon Urban Corporation.
The Tapdong Innovation Valley development project aims to create a mixed-use business complex focused on research and development (R&D) and high-tech companies on a 260,000-square-meter site in the Tapdong area. The goal is to break ground in the second half of this year.
The plan is to supply advanced business sites (3 blocks, 30,000 square meters) and mixed-use business sites (8 blocks, 90,000 square meters). The complex will be able to accommodate knowledge industry centers, venture business facilities, and software promotion facilities. Suwon Urban Corporation will begin supplying land in earnest and attract high-tech companies to ensure the area’s self-sufficiency.
The Suwon city government will actively support business attraction activities and promotional efforts to ensure the successful implementation of Tapdong Innovation Valley, which is Suwon Urban Corporation’s first development project.
Tapdong Innovation Valley is a core area of western Suwon and offers excellent transportation accessibility. Gosaek Station is 1 kilometer away, and Suwon Station on the soon-to-open GTX-C line is 2 kilometers away. Once the GTX-C line opens, it will be possible to reach the Gangnam area of Seoul in about 30 minutes.
Lee Jaejun, Mayor of Suwon, said, "Tapdong Innovation Valley will be the centerpiece of the Suwon Free Economic Zone, which will be developed on a scale of 1 million pyeong, and the starting point of a ring-shaped advanced science innovation cluster that connects high-tech industry hubs such as North Suwon Technovalley and Uman Technovalley." He added, "We will actively attract companies by offering affordable sale prices and outstanding location advantages."
