The dialogue, held on April 22, was attended by approximately 70 participants, including leaders of local women's organizations, female advisory members, and women leaders. The event served as a meaningful opportunity to build consensus on North Korean human rights issues and to reflect on the importance of peaceful unification.

On this day, Professor Kang Dongwan of Dong-A University delivered a special lecture titled 'The Reality of North Korean Human Rights Seen Through Photographs and Our Role.' Through various photographs depicting the realities of human rights in North Korea, Professor Kang vividly conveyed the situation of North Korean residents and discussed with the women leaders the roles that our society should play for peaceful unification. As a result, the participants developed a more positive outlook on unification.

Yoon Kyunghan, Chairperson of the Council, stated, "Through this dialogue, women leaders had a meaningful time sharing their thoughts on unification and considering ways to achieve peaceful unification together," adding, "The Democratic Peaceful Unification Sangju Council will continue to promote citizen participation programs that foster understanding of unification."

Mayor Kang Youngseok remarked, "Women play a key role in all fields, including politics and the economy," and emphasized, "Continuous exchange and cooperation between council members and women leaders will play an important role in strengthening our capacity to prepare for unification."

During the event, a contest for creating acrostic poems about the Democratic Peaceful Unification Council was held, with outstanding entries selected and awarded. This provided a meaningful opportunity for participants to share creative ideas about unification.
