Gumi City Council Donates 6 Million Won for North Gyeongsang Wildfire Recovery

Voluntary Fundraising by Council Members and Staff
Supporting Disaster Victims in Returning to Daily Life

The Gumi City Council in North Gyeongsang Province has donated 6 million won to the North Gyeongsang Community Chest of Korea to help victims who lost their homes in the recent large-scale wildfire in North Gyeongsang.

This donation was raised voluntarily by all council members and staff of the Gumi City Council. The purpose was to offer comfort to residents affected by the sudden disaster and to support the swift recovery of the affected areas.


At the donation ceremony, Council Chair Park Kyosang said, "On behalf of all members of the Gumi City Council, I extend my deepest condolences to the victims who are suffering greatly due to the sudden wildfire. We hope that this donation, prepared with sincerity, will provide some support for the stabilization of your lives, and we sincerely wish for your quick recovery of hope and return to daily life."


The recent wildfire caused extensive damage, burning vast forests and destroying numerous homes and facilities, particularly in the eastern coastal and northern regions of North Gyeongsang. Residents in the affected areas are still facing significant difficulties during the recovery process.


The Gumi City Council stated that, taking this donation as an opportunity, it will continue to actively respond to crises such as disasters and calamities, and will pursue warm legislative activities in solidarity with the local community and together with its citizens.
