Gwangju Namgu to Hold 'Uniform Sharing Market' with 1,500 Items on April 26 Exterior view of Gwangju Namgu District Office.

On April 23, Gwangju Namgu District announced that it will hold a school uniform sharing market to reduce the financial burden on parents and to promote a culture of passing down school uniforms.

The school uniform sharing market will take place on April 26 at Pureungil Park, behind the Bixpo Plaza in Juwol-dong, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The event aims to alleviate the economic burden of purchasing school uniforms, encourage resource recycling, and promote ethical consumption.

At the sharing market, there will be separate booths selling school uniforms as well as products made with domestic wheat, organic tofu, walnut cookies, and other items produced by the local self-support center. The school uniform display will feature uniforms from 32 local middle and high schools.

A total of approximately 1,500 items?including jackets, shirts, skirts, pants, and vests, some of which are brand new and have never been worn?will be available to visitors at the market.

The price for each school uniform will be set as a voluntary donation of at least 1,000 won per item. Proceeds from the sales will be donated to the Namgu Scholarship Foundation and used to nurture local talent.

A district official stated, "The cost of purchasing school uniforms is a considerable burden on household finances, which is why we decided to organize the school uniform sharing market. We hope that passing down school uniforms will strengthen the bonds between students and help further spread the culture of sharing."
