Providing Medical Support Services for Farmers and Local Residents
On April 23, Gyeongnam Nonghyup and Jinju City held a 'Rural House Call Bus' event at the Jinju Jinyang Nonghyup main conference room, providing mobile medical services to fill the healthcare gap for approximately 300 local farmers and residents.
The 'Rural House Call Bus' project delivers comprehensive medical services?including medical care, rehabilitation therapy, oral examinations, vision tests, and the provision of reading glasses?to residents in rural areas where hospitals, clinics, and pharmacies are scarce.
Present at the event were Jinju Mayor Cho Kyuil, Jinju Jinyang Nonghyup President Son Jongtae, and Nonghyup Jinju Branch Manager Lee Taeyong. The event featured traditional Korean medicine and physical therapy provided by Haetsalmaru, oral health checkups by IOBio, and vision tests and reading glasses services by Bom Optician.
Son Jongtae, President of Jinju Jinyang Nonghyup, stated, "I hope this meaningful event will allow us to carefully look after the health of our members, who have not been able to take care of themselves due to their busy farming schedules." He added, "Jinju Jinyang Nonghyup will continue to expand welfare programs to improve the health and quality of life of our members."
Ryu Gilnyeon, Director, commented, "I am pleased to help improve the medical environment for residents who usually find it difficult to visit hospitals." He further stated, "We will do our best to promote healthy rural welfare by raising the level of healthcare for the aging rural population and providing a variety of customized services."
