The Community Chest of Korea (Chairman Kim Byungjun) announced that the Korea Freedom Federation (President Kang Seokho) donated 50 million won on April 23 to support the recovery efforts for wildfire damage in the Yeongnam region.
The donation was raised through the voluntary participation of members from the Korea Freedom Federation headquarters as well as branches in Daegu, Gwangju, Daejeon, and other locations. It will be used to support the stabilization of daily life and disaster recovery for residents affected by the wildfires in the Yeongnam region.
Kang Seokho, President of the Korea Freedom Federation, said, "I would like to express my deepest condolences to those who are suffering due to the unexpected wildfires," and added, "We hope that the heartfelt contributions collected by our members nationwide will provide even a small amount of support to the affected residents."
Insik Hwang, Secretary General of the Community Chest of Korea, stated, "We are deeply grateful to the Korea Freedom Federation for gathering support from across the country despite these challenging circumstances," and added, "We will ensure that the donation is promptly and transparently distributed according to the needs on the ground so that it can provide practical assistance to those affected."
