Professor Daegeun Jin of Dongmyung University (Department of Football Studies) recently received this year's Merit Award from the Korea Sports Industry Management Association (President Jeonghak Lee).

Professor Jin was selected as the recipient of this year's Merit Award in recognition of his contributions as the association's secretary general for three years, during which he oversaw the overall practical affairs of the association, efficiently coordinated the operation of various academic events, and contributed to the stable management and academic advancement of the association. The award ceremony took place at the association's Spring Academic Conference held at Kyung Hee University Global Campus on April 19, 2025.
Professor Jin actively conducts academic research in fields such as sports management and sports marketing. He also serves as a reviewer for the Korean Journal of Physical Education and the Korea Sports Industry Management Association Journal, and is the head of the Department of Football Studies at Dongmyung University.
He has previously served as a member of the writing committee for the Korea Sports Promotion Foundation's professional sports instructor training textbooks, a humanities and social sciences research professor at the National Research Foundation of Korea, and secretary general of the Korea Professors' Tennis Federation. He is currently serving as executive director of the Korea Professors' Football Federation, director of the Korea Sports Industry Management Association, director of the Korea Sports Tourism Association, and director of the Busan Football Association.
Professor Jin stated, "I am delighted to receive this award at the academic conference," and added, "I will do my best to contribute to the development of the Korean sports industry through continued academic activities."
The Korea Sports Industry Management Association, a specialized academic organization in the field of sports industry and management in Korea, was established in November 1995 and has been contributing to the field through ongoing research and knowledge creation.
The association's journal, the Korea Sports Industry Management Association Journal, is ranked in the top three among more than 170 specialized journals in the arts and physical education fields and continues to be published regularly.
