Yangju City Launches Integrity Plogging to Promote Clean Public Service

Yangju City in Gyeonggi Province has embarked on practical efforts to establish a culture of integrity within the public sector. This campaign goes beyond simple environmental cleanup activities. By having all employees participate in 'plogging'?picking up litter while walking?it aims to strengthen communication and cooperation among staff and to remind them of the importance of integrity as public officials.

On this day, employees collected illegally discarded trash around the Yangju City Hall and took time to pledge their commitment to eradicating abuse of power and corruption. In particular, the campaign, held under the name 'Integrity Plogging Challenge,' was designed to foster a culture of action-oriented participation.

Kim Jihyun, head of the Public Transportation Division, stated, "Activities to create a clean environment are closely linked to the integrity required of public officials," and added, "We will continue to promote various practical programs to realize clean and transparent administration."

Starting with this campaign, Yangju City plans to expand voluntary integrity initiatives by department and accelerate the realization of a 'trusted public sector' through integrity education, counseling, and strengthening internal self-purification systems.
