Hanam City and Bobath Hospital Join Hands for Special Health Examinations... Strengthening Health Rights of Field Workers

Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Hyun Jae) announced on April 23 that it had signed a business agreement for a 'special health examination' to promote the health of field workers affiliated with Hanam Bobath Hospital (Director Yoon Yeon Joong) at the city hall situation room on the 22nd.

This agreement is significant in that it aims to protect the health of field workers who are exposed to hazardous factors in industrial settings in advance and to establish an institutional foundation for creating a safe working environment.

The 'special health examination' is a specialized medical checkup conducted regularly for field workers who are continuously exposed to harmful elements such as noise, dust, night work, and chemicals, based on Article 130 of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Until now, field workers in Hanam City had to travel to medical institutions outside the city for the special health examination, which caused considerable inconvenience. In particular, there were constraints related to adjusting regular work hours and transportation conditions, raising concerns about low participation rates in the examinations. To address these issues, the city promoted an agreement with Bobath Hospital, a local medical institution equipped with expertise and infrastructure.

Under this agreement, Bobath Hospital will be responsible for the entire process, including examination reservations, customized checkups for each hazardous factor, and notification of results, based on the list of eligible individuals provided by Hanam City.

In particular, when the examination is conducted in conjunction with the National Health Insurance Service checkup, the hospital will handle the reporting to the Service in an integrated manner, which is expected to enhance administrative convenience.

The examination results will be delivered directly to the workers themselves, while the city will receive a separate post-management report, ensuring systematic follow-up management.

In addition, one of the greatest strengths of this agreement is that the director of the Health Promotion Center at Bobath Hospital currently serves as Hanam City's occupational health physician. This enables not only basic health examinations but also customized health consultations and interpretation of results by an occupational health specialist, providing substantial support for worker health management.

Yoon Yeon Joong, director of Bobath Hospital, said, "As a specialized healthcare institution, we are honored to participate in protecting the health and safety of Hanam City's field workers," and added, "Through this agreement, we will closely cooperate with Hanam City to provide systematic and high-quality health examination services."

Lee Hyun Jae, mayor of Hanam, emphasized, "With this agreement, our city's field workers will no longer have to travel far for medical checkups and can now receive more systematic health examination services locally. We will continue to prioritize the health and safety of workers as a core value of city administration and will strive to continuously improve the industrial health environment."

Meanwhile, Bobath Hospital is a 242-bed medical institution located on Misagangbyeon Jungang-ro in Hanam City, with a medical system centered on 16 specialists in rehabilitation medicine, internal medicine, neurology, and other fields.
